We are now ensnared
in an anti-reality TV show
with no commercial breaks.
The scripts are written and edited
by a gang —
malignantly perverse child-people —
whose only talent is knowing
how to carve away
any hint of veracity and compassion
from the complexity of the human experience,
leaving just the sharp and brittle bones of hostility
scattered on the ground
for the emotionally malnourished
to claw at and collect.
Lamentable weapons of control
against the vulnerability of
that they are not authorized to feel
in their very own selves.
